Hard Working Class Heroes, the annual music festival for new Irish talent, is calling on bands, singers and acts to apply to take part in this year's weekender.

Ireland’s showcase Festival and Conference for New Music and Technology returns to the streets and venues of Dublin over three days in October from Thursday 2 to Saturday 4.

Now in its twelfth year, HWCH has become an important part of the Irish and international musical calender and has helped launch the careers of Little Green Cars, Dáithi, and Villagers among many others.

RTÉ Ten met organiser Angela Dorgan of First Music Contact and former HWCH band Fight Like Apes to talk about the festival. Click on the link to watch.

HWCH has also announced HMV as its main sponsor and in partnership with First Music Contact, they will stage weekly Breaking Tunes Breaking gigs in HMV on Grafton Street, Dublin and in Belfast.

To apply to take part go to www.hwch.net.

Dublin act Fight Like Apes played the first Breaking Tunes show in Dublin last Friday (June 13). Click on the video link to watch them in action and see how to apply to take part in this year's HWCH.
