She won our hearts as Hilda Suarez, Betty's older sister in the popular American dramedy series Ugly Betty, and now Ana Ortiz is making her small screen return and taking on a sexier role in Devious Maids.
The first season of Devious Maids, which is produced by former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, is set to air on RTÉ Two later in the summer, and Ana insists it's worth the wait!
Speaking to RTÉ Ten about the upcoming series, Ana said: "If you were a fan of Desperate Housewives, then you're going to love this show. It's Desperate Housewives 2.0. There are five Latin ladies, who are the leads. We get to have so much devious fun and we really get to tear up Beverly Hills. You can expect funny, sexy, drama and mystery – there's something for everyone. Not to mention, the good looking men and hot women".
On working with Longoria, Ana said: "It's just been heaven. I'm so lucky to work with her. She's been a friend for a long time, and I knew walking into this I would be protected. There was a lot of controversy in the States when we first started the show because people were upset that it was about maids. But, I knew with Eva behind us that we would be bringing so much heart and joy and dignity and honour to these characters, and really telling beautiful stories, while still having tremendous amounts of fun."
Ana admits that she can relate to her Devious Maids character, Marisol Suarez, saying: "We are both mothers and I think we would both go through the fire for our kids, and that's kind of what Marisol does in the first season. She really pulls out all the stops, and she does things that are really out of character for her, but she has to do them.
"She goes undercover as a maid and is really like a fish out of water. She's really just trying to make sure she takes care of her family and through doing so; she forms a friendship with these really incredible women. The closer she leans on these other women and maids the harder it gets. She's lying to them the whole time."
