Tracy Morgan in intensive care following car crash say reports

Former 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan is in intensive care following a car crash in New Jersey, it has been reported.

According to a US report from Nbc10.com, the actor and comedian is in a critical condition in the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey, following the crash in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 7).

Police said that the limousine bus carrying Morgan and six others was involved in a six-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike at approximately 1am.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Gregory William has confirmed that one victim riding in the vehicle with Morgan was killed in the crash. He has been named by state police as James McNair, a 63-year-old from Peekskill, New York.

Hospital officials have said that three passengers were critically hurt and another person is in fair condition following the collision. 

Two tractor-trailers, an SUV, two cars and Morgan's limo bus were involved in the accident.

Morgan’s publicist, Lewis Kay, said in a statement: "His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care".

The 45-year-old starred in the sketch-comedy show Saturday Night Live from 1996 to 2003. He left the series in favour of The Tracy Morgan Show in 2003 which was cancelled after one season.

In 2006, Morgan was cast in Tina Fey's hit NBC comedy 30 Rock as Tracy Jordan, a role for he played for seven seasons.
