Nearly a year to the day since being crowned The Voice of Ireland winner and Keith Hanley is celebrating by releasing his second single, Hush.
Speaking to RTÉ TEN, about the title track to his debut album the singer said: “This second single shows off my song writing capabilities! I'm not just a person who sings and dances on the stage, I am an artist and I'm hoping this song shows off those qualities.”
He added in a press release that Hush is “…a very personal track and tells the story of what has happened to me in my life and my journey so far. I trust that the sentiments expressed in the track and the song's personal lyrics will connect with people. “
He may only be 20-years-old but Hanly has his head screwed on and isn’t afraid to speak frankly: “People think winning a talent show is the easy option but I worked my ass off during The Voice and I have kept doing that ever since. So no matter what happens with the album, I know I have given this my best shot.”
In addition to working part-time as a carer in St Joseph’s Foundation, he has a busy summer ahead: “I am honoured to be part of The Special Olympics this year in Limerick.
“To be recognised for both my passions is a blessing and I'm delighted to be carrying my talents and knowledge on a platform like The Special Olympics.”
Plus he has also shared his guilty pleasure!: “I won't lie I am a CRAZY fan of The Kardashians!”
Hanly added: “I watch their programmes constantly so with all this excitement and buzz around the country it's pretty cool to know they [were] actually so close to home. Lets hope they enjoy[ed] it!”
Hush is out now and available to download on iTunes.
