This competition is now closed, the winner is Deirdre Fitzpatrick.

To celebrate Tayto Garden at Bloom 2014 we have an amazing prize up for grabs. You could nab yourself two tickets to Bloom this weekend, two tickets to Tayto Park and a box of Tayto Crisps to enjoy!

Bloom 2014 is taking place in the Phoenix Park Dublin over the June bank holiday weekend, May 29 – June 2, and Mr. Tayto will be there, but in a way you’ve never seen him before!

The Tayto Garden: from Potato to Packet, will tell the story and the process of how the potatoes used to give Tayto their unique flavour are planted, lifted from the ground, washed, peeled, sliced and ultimately transformed into the delicious Tayto crisps which the Irish at home and abroad just love to eat!

The main man himself, Mr.Tayto will be there to oversee things in the form of a massive, 17 foot topiary sculpture, made up of 50 square metres of boxwood, 600 metres of steel rod and 15000 cable ties, making him the largest ever sculpture at Bloom. He’ll be standing at one end of the garden, whilst a giant 10-foot waterwheel will stand at the opposite end. The giant waterwheel will drive a 50ft conveyor belt, which includes 200 water jets, which will weave its way through the garden, giving Bloom festival-goers an exclusive view of the various processes involved in the Tayto crisp-making process.

This progression will take place amongst over 3,000 stunning shrubbery and plants, some of which were grown from seed especially for Bloom 2014.

The creative team and staff behind Tayto Park will be breaking the boundaries of garden design by creating some of the biggest and most impressive designs and features that Bloom Festival has EVER seen!
