Jennifer Saunders has confirmed that the long-rumoured Absolutely Fabulous film will become a reality.
The comedienne and actress – who starred in Ab Fab along with Joanna Lumley - made the announcement at the Hay Festival in Wales, telling the audience that she hoped it would be released in 2015.
“I am writing the film as we speak – it’s in the pipeline,” she announced during a book talk at the long-running literature and arts festival. "I am hoping it will be released by the end of next year."
Saunders had revealed back in March that she was undergoing hypnotherapy to help her overcome the procrastination that prevent her from completing the script for the delayed film.
"It’s true, what my hypnotist said was to get rid of the backpack of negativity,” she said.
Absolutely Fabulous first appeared on BBC One in 1992 and poked fun at the shallow fashion world through the lives of PR head Edwina Monsoon, played by Saunders, and Joanna Lumley’s Patsy Stone, Edwina’s best pal.
