A well-known Eastender is to be attacked next month on the soap and it is not known if they will survive.

Warning! Spoiler Alert!

Walford businesswoman Sharon Rickman will be left for dead when she is mugged while locking up her bar for the night.

Sharon, who is played by 46-year-old Letitia Dean, will be hit over the head by the mystery mugger. She will be found by barman Johnny Carter (Sam Strike) who calls an ambulance, but it remains to be seen if she will survive the attack.

An Eastenders insider told Digital Spy that the attack will spark a big new storyline for Sharon and her partner Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

A devastated Phil will keep a beside vigil as Sharon's life hangs in the balance. The story will also feature some unexpected twists and turns which will surprise fans in the aftermath.

There is no confirmation as of yet whether this incident is connected to the recent murder of Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater).
