Robin Thicke premiered his new single Get Her Back at the Billboard Music Awards last night, and he dedicated the song to his estranged wife, Paula Patton.
It was the latest ploy by Thicke, who broke through with controversial global hit Blurred Lines last year, in his very public campaign to win Patton back after they separated in February after eight years of marriage.
As he kicked off the performance, Thicke sang: "All I wanna do is make it right . . . I gotta get her, go get her back, I gotta treat her right, I gotta cherish her for life."
Thicke picked up four awards at the Billboard show in Las Vegas, including Top Radio Song, Top R&B Song, Hot 100 Song and Top Digital Song.
During his acceptance speech for Top R&B song, he said: "First of all I just want to say thank you to the Billboard Awards and to my friends and family. To Pharrell Williams, the genius Pharrell Williams, thank you very much."
He continued, "And most importantly I want to thank my wife for all her love and support and for putting up with me all these years."
