Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has credited his success to Michael Jackson saying he wouldn't be on stage or in a band if it wasn't for the late Thriller hitmaker.

Speaking to NME Meighan said: "Nothing's come near since [Thriller]. It was my childhood. It sent me crazy. I'd be in front of the TV for hours trying to mimic him and them dance moves.

"I don't think I'd be on stage or singing in a band if it wasn't for Michael Jackson and that album. He's a big part of me, of my childhood."

Teasing Kasabian's upcoming album 48:13, Meighan's band-mate Serge Pizzorno commented: "We kept everything direct musically and tried to combine electronical, hip hop and late 60s rock and roll. It feels like we've been training 10 years for this."
