Dublin band Kodaline were impressed by Jennifer Lopez when they encountered her during their performance on American Idol last month.
The band, who play two intimate gigs in aid of The Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association in Dublin venue Whelan's this July, say they were impressed when the 44-year-old singer, who is a judge on the show, walked past them.
Guitarist Mark Prendergast told the Irish Mirror: “JLo walked by us with her entourage and we were sitting there drinking tea. We were like ‘Holy Jesus!’
“She’s in her 40s and she hasn't lost it. What a stunner. But we didn't get to hang out with her or anything.”
Mark also said Kodaline's success has made him more of a hit with the ladies. "We definitely get more attention from females. Although sometimes it attracts the wrong kind of girl.”
The band are currently in Dublin working on their second album but Mark said the foursome don't feel under any pressure to recreate the success of their debut record, In A Perfect World.
He said: “No one has put us under pressure to recreate the success of the first album. We can pick which songs we want to record. It’s actually more freeing than the first. We hope to have it finished by the end of the summer.”
