The death has been announced of Malik Bendjelloul, the director, producer and co-writer of the Oscar-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man. He was 36.
The Associated Press, quoting a police spokesperson, said that the Swedish filmmaker died in Stockholm late on Tuesday (May 13).
Local newspaper Expressen said his death was not being treated as suspicious.
Chronicling the quest to find the 1970s musician Sixto Rodriguez, Searching for Sugar Man was named Best Documentary at last year's Oscars and also won a BAFTA award and an Audience Award at Sundance.
