Eight-year-old Bray girl Megan Geoghegan is set to dance tonight during the interval act for the second Eurovision Song Contest semi-final in Copenhagen.

Megan won a competition to take part by submitting a 15 second clip of her hip hop dancing in her home. Speaking about finding out that she was to take part her mother Suzanne said “We thought it was a joke when we first got the call! Then there was great excitement. It's brilliant being here.”

The youngster, who goes to Bray School Project, said: “I think it's going to be really fun. I'm the only Irish dancer taking part. My family and friends can't wait to see me on the stage.”

Megan has been off school for the past week taking part in preparations for the show. Tonight dancers aged from 8 to 69 years will take part and the young Irish girl will be the first person on stage.

Check out Megan’s performance tonight on the show which can be seen on RTÉ Two at 8pm with commentary from Marty Whelan.
