Jennifer Lopez will receive the Icon Award at this year's Billboard Music Awards later this month.
Lopez will be the first woman honoured with the award in the ceremony which is set to be held in Las Vegas on May 18.
Only three stars have received the award previously; Prince, Stevie Wonder and Neil Diamond.
Producer of the awards, Larry Klein, said, "Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic performers of her generation. We are thrilled to honour her historic career with the 2014 Icon Award and will be on the edge of our seats like everyone else when she takes the stage."
It is expected that Lopez will perform her new single First Love at the show and debut her World Cup collaboration with Pibull, We Are One (Ole Ola).
