Collins to compete on Strictly?

Michelle Collins is reportedly in talks to compete on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former Coronation Street star, who left the ITV soap in April after three years of playing landlady Stella Price, is said to have been approached by Strictly producers to get on her dancing shoes for the next series of the BBC show.

Appearing on the show would allow the actress a chance to spend more time with her daughter Maia as it is filmed in London, according to an insider.

The source told The Sun on Sunday: “Michelle is a great name and the Strictly team would love to sign her up. It’s early days but all the signs seem promising.

“For Michelle, Strictly also has the bonus that it is London-based. She left Corrie because she wanted to be in London with her daughter. So the last thing she would want is another job that would take her away again. Strictly would guarantee her three months in London.”

Collins revealed in the past that appearing on Strictly would appeal to her, despite her competitive streak that could lead her to clashing with the judges.

She said: "Never say never - out of all of [the reality shows] I'd do Strictly. But I'm quite competitive and I don't like to fail at anything.

"I'm not a very good dancer and I wouldn't take being criticised by Craig Revel Horwood very well. I would probably end up punching him."
