Home and Away was named Most Popular Drama at Austalia's Logie Awards yesterday, April 27.

In his acceptance speech, long-time show regular Ray Meagher, who plays Alf Stewart on the soap, said, "We really didn't think we had a chance against the one-hour shows but we'll take it.

"In Australia now, there aren't many things being manufactured. We're Australian-made and exported around the world and very proud of it."

Bonnie Sveen was another Home and Away success story taking away the gong for Most Popular New Talent for her role as Ricky Sharpe. Sveen's co-star Johnny Ruffo aka Chris Harrington was also nominated in the category.

Upon receiving her award Sveen said, "Thank you to everyone who voted and everyone who watches the show and lets us live our dream."

It was an unlucky night for the Braxtons however with Steve Peacocke (Brax) and Dan Ewing (Heath) missing out on the awards for Most Popular Personality and Most Popular Actor respectively.

Kylie Minogue, Ed Sheeran and Jason Derulo performed on the night.
