The Hobbit and Being Human star Aidan Turner begins filming the BBC's remake of its classic period drama Poldark this week.
The Irish actor, who plays the lead role of Ross Poldark, will film in Cornwall and Bristol, with the eight-part series coming to BBC One next year.
Turner's co-stars include Eleanor Tomlinson (Death Comes to Pemberley), Heida Reed (Silent Witness), Ruby Bentall (The Paradise), Jack Farthing (Blandings), Kyle Solder (Anna Karenina), Warren Clarke (Red Riding), Phil Davies (Whitechapel), Beatie Edney (Poirot) and Robin Ellis, who played the title role in the original 1975-77 BBC adaptation of Winston Graham's acclaimed novels.
Executive Producer Karen Thrussell said: "We're so thrilled by the Poldark cast, and we feel particularly privileged that Robin Ellis has agreed to join this stellar line-up - it's a great tribute to Debbie Horsfield's scripts.
"Robin is looking forward to returning to Winston Graham's world, and we will be welcoming him with open arms!"
