Ray Davies of The Kinks, Johnny Vegas, SFA's Gruff Rhys, Carlos Acosta, Joseph O’Connor and Arne Dahl are confirmed for the Dublin Writers Festival, which runs from May 17 to 25.
The festival will feature over 90 different events featuring over 130 established and emerging authors and artists over nine days.
There will be a public interview with Davies, an event fusing music and talk with guests including Gruff Rhys, singer with Welsh bands Super Furry Animals and Neon Neon.
The Faber Social event features The Slit’s punk guitarist Viv Albertine and author and St Etienne member Bob Stanley in a book launch, nightclub and gig combo event.
The Festival also welcomes two debut authors. Breakdancing street kid turned international ballet dancer Carlos Acosta will read from his novel Pig’s Foot on the opening Saturday.
Comedian Michael Pennington - better known as Johnny Vegas - is the final guest on the extensive programme. He will participate in a public conversation, discussing the struggle between Pennington, the man, and Vegas his alter ego.
The programme will also feature the Irish fiction writers, Joseph O’Connor, Sebastian Barry, Anne Enright and Hugo Hamilton.
