Alan Cumming "went off" directing

Cumming: "Directing was a traumatic experience"

The Good Wife star Alan Cumming says he intends to quit directing movies after his experiences with his first two features.

The 49-year-old star, who made The Anniversary Party (2001) and Ghost Writer (2007), admits that he has gone off movie making.

Speaking to Australia's Herald Sun newspaper, Cumming said: "It was a traumatic experience and I kind of went off it. I like directing very much, but even on smaller films like Ghost Writer, you have to deal with such a lot of annoyance.

"It's a big commitment to ignore all the other things you are doing just to focus on that for a long period of time."
