Paramount TV announce commissions

The Truman Show and Ghost are both set to be adapted for television by Paramount, it has been announced.

The films were originally released by Paramount and the commissions are the company’s first since Paramount Television was relaunched. The company has also just announced several key appointment beefing up the division.

Also in the works is a TV version of the film Narc while a new drama based on the novel The Alienist by Caleb Carr has also been commissioned.

Joe Carnahan will write and direct the pilot for Narc based on the 2002 film with Ray Liotta while filmmakers Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner are attached to the Ghost reboot.
