Game of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie will join the cast of The Hunger Games for the upcoming Mockingjay – Part 2 movie.

Christie is replacing Lily Rabe as Commander Lyme in the sequel, due to Rabe's commitment to a Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing.

Fans of the book and movie franchise will know that Commander Lyme is a former Hunger Games winner, and a leader of the rebelling District 13.

This is another military-themed role for Christie, who currently plays the honourable female knight Brienne of Tarth in HBO's Game of Thrones.

Julianne Moore is also joining the Hunger Games as President Alma Coin in the two-part finale, and recently admitted that she feels a "huge responsibility" to do the character justice.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opens on November 21 on both sides of the Atlantic.
