Ahead of its May release, Irish comedy Frank has secured deals worldwide.
Screen Daily reports that following deals in the US and France, Frank is now bound for Australia and New Zealand, the Benelux countries, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Middle East, Poland, Portugal, Scandinavia, Singapore, Slovakia and Turkey.
Directed by Lenny Abrahamson, and starring Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Frank follows Jon (Gleeson), who joins an avant-garde group, "led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Fassbender) and his terrifying sidekick Clara (Gyllenhaal)".
Frank received its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in the US in January and will screen at Sundance London later this month.
Financed by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) and with Irish company Element Pictures among its producers, Frank opens in Irish cinemas on Friday May 9.
