Three new shows here as Australian drama Secrets & Lies (9.30pm) comes to RTÉ Two, and is followed an hour later by the 12th season of Other Voices. Inspector Morse prequel Endeavour returns to UTV at 8.00pm for a second run.

Secrets & Lies, 9.30pm, RTÉ Two

This six-part Australian drama was given a straight-to-series order when an American adaptation was proposed to US network ABC -which is some indication of what to expect. Ben Gundelach (Martin Henderson) is a run-of-the-mill family man living in Brisbane, a housepainter by trade, who discovers the body of a murdered four-year-old boy, who lived just down the road. Gundelach’s life begins to unravel as he becomes a prime suspect for the police and people start believing that he’s the murderer.

Endeavour, 8.00pm, UTV

Shaun Evans returns as young Morse in the second season of the hit crime drama and prequel to the much-loved Inspector Morse. The story’s now up to May 1966 and DC Endeavour Morse returns to Oxford City Police after a four-month absence that has left him wounded - and in mind more than body. Then, during a parade, a John Doe plummets to his death from a council building, and the initial investigation indicates anything but a routine suicide case.

Other Voices, 10.30pm, RTÉ Two

Over six weeks, presenter Aidan Gillen will take viewers on a musical trip with each programme featuring a compelling soundtrack of songs, conversations and unique acoustic performances from its spiritual home of St James’ Church, Dingle Co Kerry and The Glassworks, Derry – both providing a beautiful backdrop for those involved. Programme one of this 12th season features performances from The Gloaming, William Doyle aka East India Youth, Take Me to Church singer Hozier and newcomer Roise Carney.
