The original cast of sci-fi comedy The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy reunited for a one-off broadcast on BBC Radio 4 this morning (March 29).
The Radio 4 reunion took place at the BBC Radio Theatre in London with Simon Jones reprising his role as bewildered earthling Arthur Dent in the surreal space travel adventure.
Mark Wing-Davey returned as Zaphod Beeblebrox, Geoff McGivern as undercover alien Ford Prefect, Stephen Moore as Marvin the Paranoid Android, and Susan Sheridan once again playedTrillian.
Douglas Adams' much-loved book was first adapted for Radio 4 in 1978 and subsequently became a TV series, a number of follow-up books, a computer game, and a 2004 film starring Bill Nighty as Zlartibartfast, Sam Rockwell as Beeblebrox, and Martin Freeman as Dent.
Radio 4's online serialisation of Adams' last three Hitchhilker books drew a bigger audience than either The Archers or the Today programme. The first book sold 250,000 copies in the first three months.
Douglas Adams, who died in 2001 also wrote for Doctor Who and Monty Python's Flying Circus.
