Skinner and Bakewell - Coming to Dublin in June for new series

The Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner-hosted Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year is coming back to Dublin this summer as part of its talent search.

The Irish heat for the second series will take place in Dublin on Sunday June 15.

Entry information is available at: www.sky.com/portrait, with anyone aged 16 and over invited to apply. Entries close on May 1.

Work by the series' finalists will be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London for a month, while the winner will receive a £10,000 commission for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and a place in its permanent collection.

The series will be screened on Sky Arts, beginning this October.

Presenter Bakewell said: "We knew the UK and Ireland was [sic] brimming with artistic talent but we were amazed at the standard of entries in the first series. That's the reason I can't wait to get started on this second series. Hopefully we can find the next Gainsborough or Freud!"
