Former Fair City star Aoibhín Garrihy is set to star in the second season of The Fall alongside Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan.

The 26-year-old actress, best known for playing Carrigstown's Neasa Dillon, is to play Lyndsey Conklin in the murder-drama which is based in Belfast according to The Irish Independent.

Filming for the second series of the hugely popular show recently began after a slight delay so that Belfast native, Jamie Dornan, could finish filming the highly anticipated movie, 50 Shades of Grey.

Since Aoibhín, who is from Castleknock in Dublin, left Fair City last summer she has been busy starring in a two-month sell-out run of Pride and Prejudice at the Gate Theatre in Dublin and is due to tour with the show later this year.

Joining Aoibhín on The Fall is Raw actress Tara Lee, who has been busy tweeting over the past couple of weeks about her time in Belfast.
