Last night's Sport Relief appeal raised a record-breaking £51,242,186 beating the previous record set in 2012 of £50.4m.

The TV appeal lasted 6 hours and featured a host of celebrities, including David Beckham and Kylie Minogue, doing their bit to raise money for the cause.

Little Mix opened the show with their Sport Relief single, a cover of Cameo's Word Up, and footage was shown of their trip to Liberia.

David Walliams and Gary Lineker hosted the event. Linkeker thanked all who donated saying, "We have to thank the British public for their generosity and to everyone who has given their time to make it the best Sport Relief yet. It's simply wonderful that Sport Relief continues to grow. The money raised will help change tens of thousands of lives at home and overseas."
