UK satellite channel Sky1 has acquired the rights to US TV shows About a Boy and Star-Crossed, both of which will debut on the channel in the coming weeks.
About a Boy is based on the book by British author Nick Hornby and stars David Walton as bachelor Will, Benjamin Stockham as his young pal Marcus and Minnie Driver as the boy's mother Fiona.
There was a film version of the novel released in 2002 that starred Hugh Grant, Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette as the story’s main characters.
About a Boy is broadcast on NBC in the United States, where it debuted last month to an audience of 8.26 million.
Sci-fi series Star-Crossed is on teen-oriented channel The CW. Set in the near-future, it centres on a romance between a human girl and an alien male when he and six other aliens are integrated into a Louisianan high school.
About a Boy begins on Sky1 on Monday, March 31 at 9.30pm, with Star-Crossed following on Friday, April 4 at 8pm.
