Need for Speed tops Irish box office

Petrolhead action film Need for Speed debuted at the top of the Irish box office last weekend with The Lego Movie and The Grand Budapest Hotel in second and third place.

It was the lowest grossing weekend of 2014 so far with Need for Speed taking €109k to hit No 1 and The Lego Movie passing the €3 million mark with a weekend take of €97k.

Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel is still proving hugely popular with irish audiences and took €92k over the St Patrick's Day weekend.

Irish box office top 10 March 14 to 16.
