The surprise return of Veronica Mars may have got telly geeks talking but Sarah Michelle Gellar says that Buffy The Vampire Slayer will not be going through a similar big-screen reboot.
The 36-year-old actress starred in the hit TV series for six years but she has driven a stake into the hearts of die-hard fans hoping for a return of the high-kicking high school vamp slayer.
In fact, she says she'd need a "walker" if she was to play Buffy again.
“Buffy was [already] a movie. See, I think people forget that," she told US TV show Access Hollywood. "Buffy was a movie first, and I don’t know if you guys know this, but it didn’t really work!"
"We spent our whole first year or two apologising for the movie. So, I think it would be an incredibly different pressure . . . Plus, I’m a little old now. I feel like Buffy would have a wooden stake walker. I’m not quite sure how that would work.”
Gellar has been married to her Scooby-Doo co-star Freddie Prinze Jr. since 2002 and the couple have son Rocky and daughter Charlotte together.
