True Dectective has already has a track record for luring big name movie stars to TV and now Brad Pitt has been linked to take Matthew McConaughey's place in the second season of the murder mystery.
Creator Nic Pizzolatto has written the series as an anthology and each season will cast new characters and follow a different plot to the one before.
McConaughey shocked fans at this year's Oscars when he confirmed that he definitely will not be returning for True Detective's second series.
Now rumours are growing that Brad Pitt will sign up for the new series. Hollywood Life reports that the 12 Years a Slave star has "come up many times" with the producers.
Pitt is said to have "tight relations with HBO", the network behind True Detective in America, after producing the HBO film The Normal Heart.
Hollywood Life says that the show, which also stars Woody Harrelson, could lure over other A-listers: “It’s the show everyone wants to be on, because the writing and the roles are just so exquisite and complex."
