Imelda May makes her debut as a TV host on The Imelda May Show

The Imelda May Show (9.30pm, RTÉ One) offers a variety of musical genres; Mixology (9.00pm, RTÉ Two) is a brand new US sitcom, while space-lovers should enjoy A Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (7.00pm, National Geographic).

The Imelda May Show, 9.30pm, RTÉ One
This is a music-driven show that features the cream of Irish talent and is broadcast across RTÉ Television, Radio and Online. Although a vastly experienced performer, this is Imelda May's first time presenting on TV, and she'll be offering an eclectic blend of acts from across a variety of musical genres. Guests include Finbar Furey, The Original Rudeboys, Nathan Carter, Sharon Shannon, and, of course, Imelda May also performs live in studio with her band. Mixology, 9.00pm, RTÉ Two
This new sitcom from the writers of The Hangover takes place over the course of one night at a Manhattan bar, where six women and five men meet up for more than just a casual conversation and drinks. Each episode follows two or three characters as they meet each other and from there will determine the outcome in the season finale, which will coincide with the end of the night. Dubliner Sarah Bolger stars as Janey in this pilot episode.

A Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, 7.00pm, National Geographic
Promising awe, wonder and mind-blowing science, the charismatic and popular astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson follows on from Carl Sagan's iconic, Emmy Award-winning 1980s documentary Cosmos: A Personal Voyage with a new 13-part series produced by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. Meanwhile, over on Channel 4 there's Live from Space: Lap of the Planet (7.30pm) - Dermot O'Leary presents a groundbreaking live broadcast where viewers can interact with astronauts who are circling Earth every 90 minutes.
