Outside of Dublin, New York's St Patrick's Day festival and parade is probably the best known celebration all things Irish but there are many other cities going all out green this weekend.
The St Patrick's Day Festival Berlin was launched in 2011 and has gone from a 150-strong crowd to a week-long, 5,000 people event, attended by the Irish Ambassador to Germany, Dan Mulhall.
The event kicks off on Sunday March 16 from 1pm with a big parade, before the live music stage offers an array of Irish music and then the Irish cinema section begins screening in the early afternoon. Plus there are lots of events promised for children and all the family.
