Boyzone's Keith Duffy is to make his London theatre debut in a revival of Billy Roche's play A Handful of Stars this April.

Duffy will play Irish boxer Stapler in the new production at Theatre503 in Battersea from April 30 to May 24.

A Handful of Stars is set in Wexford, where, according to the official theatre programme, "shot-gun weddings are outnumbered only by random acts of violence in the pool hall."

The play was first presented as a stand-alone in 1988, and then revived as part of the Wexford Trilogy at London's prestigious Bush Theatre.

Duffy has previously appeared as lovable Rovers Return barman Ciaran in in Coronation Street, and, more recently, he had a small role in Love/Hate.
