The sixth Japanese Film Festival comes to venues across Ireland between April 3 and 17.
The programme includes the Irish premieres of The Great Passage, Japan’s official submission to the Academy Award’s Best Foreign Language category.
Also to be seen is the visually stunning Unforgiven, a remake of the classic Clint Eastwood western, starring the Oscar-nominated Ken Watanabe.
Animated highlights this year include Patema Inverted, a tale in which sees gravity obstructing the course of true love, as boy meets girl from another world.
The Japanese Film Festival is co-organised by the Embassy of Japan, access>CINEMA and the Ireland Japan Association.
Screenings will take place in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Dublin and Waterford during 3-17 April. The full programme will be available shortly.
