US President Barack Obama has been interviewed by comedian Zach Galifianakis for his spoof chat show Between Two Ferns.

The President took part in the spoof for the Funny or Die website in an effort to encourage young people to sign up for health insurance.

Galifianakis quizzed Mr Obama about sending “ambassador Dennis Rodman” to North Korea amongst other things.

The BBC reports that Obama opened the interview by saying "When I heard that people actually watch this show, I was actually pretty surprised." To which Galifianakis said "What is it like to be the last black president?"

"What's it like for this to be the last time you ever talk to a president?" Mr Obama replied.

"It must kind of stink, though, that you can't run three times?" he replied to which Mr Obama said: "If I ran a third time it would be like doing a third Hangover movie. It didn't really work out very well, did it?"

Galifianakis began the spoof show in 2008 and it has become a cult hit which has also featured guests Justin Bieber and his Hangover co-star Bradley Cooper.
