Will Smith and Sony Pictures have teamed up to produce a film adaptation of the upcoming graphic novel Harlem Hellfighters.
The novel, which has been written by Max Brooks, is inspired by the true story of the all African-American 369th Infantry Regiment which fought in the US Army during World War I and World War II.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Smith and James Lassiter's Overbrook Entertainment will produce alongside Josh Bratman.
It is not known yet if Smith will also star in the new movie adaptation.
The Harlem Hellfighters graphic novel is set to be released on April 1, 2014.
Writer Brooks is best known for his book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, which was adapted into a zombie horror movie starring Brad Pitt last year, which grossed $540 million worldwide.
