Oscar nominee Cate Blanchett has said that while she is proud of her awards for Blue Jasmine, she doesn’t like to dwell on past successes.
The Blue Jasmine star told The Hollywood Reporter, “I’m very, very proud that the performance has been recognised and the film has been recognised. I used to hide those things [awards] away. But I think I want to put them somewhere and be proud, and then scoop them away.
“You don’t want to dwell on past successes, because you have to go and risk failure again for the next time.”
Blanchett also revealed her post-Oscar plans, “I don’t think I’m going to brush my hair or wear clean clothes. Put deodorant on. I think I’m going to go the full schlob.”
In just a few hours Blanchett will know if the Best Actress Academy Award is hers with the ceremony taking place tonight in Hollywood.
