Matthew Perry's remake of The Odd Couple has been given the go-ahead by US network CBS and he's playing Oscar!
The former Friends' actor also co-wrote and executive produces the comedy, based on the Broadway play by Neil Simon.
Simon's smash-hit comedy, which spawned a successful Hollywood movie and a 1970s' sitcom, is about two room-mates - slovenly sports journalist Oscar Madison and pernickity photographer Felix Unger - who are forced to share an apartment in New York after their marriages break up.
"Ever since seeing the movie The Odd Couple when I was ten years-old, it has been a dream for me to play Oscar Madison," said Perry.
"To be given the opportunity to develop a modern version of it for CBS has put a permanent smile across my face.
"Plus, I think it's time for me to be in front of a live audience again. I miss that. The search for Felix Unger is on!"
Ross Geller, anyone?
