Could Kian Egan be the next Brendan O'Connor?

Simon Cowell reckons Kian Egan should seek out a career in TV now that Westlife have parted ways.

The 33-year-old Sligo native interviewed the music mogul last week for ITV and afterwards Cowell had some encouragement for The Voice of Ireland Coach.

Egan explained to the Sligo Champion Newspaper: "Simon said to me, 'Kiddo, I can see the TV career on the horizon. That was a great interview, you were very good.'"

Egan was also asked what he thought about his former bandmate Shane FIlan's solo material. He said: "I'm delighted he is getting back on track now and doing what he loves to do and what he should be doing, which is being on stage with a microphone in his hand singing, because he has such an amazing voice."
