Niall Horan hobbled up on stage last night on crutches with his fellow One Direction members to accept their two awards at last night's Brits.

Horan, who needed a little help on stage following a recent leg injury, tried to pose on the red carpet for pictures without his crutches but gave in when it came to taking to the stage.

He tweeted (@NiallOfficial) before the event last night in London's O2 Arena: "First time we have all been together for a while now! lookin forward t seeing the lads ! #BRITs2014 [sic]"

Horan was on stage with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik to accept the awards for Global Success and Best Video for Best Song Ever.

Following the awards, he later thanked fans on Twitter: "Thank you for all the votes! u guys are incredible ! #BRITs2014 #BRITsOneDirection"

There were a number of familiar Irish faces at the event last night with Kian Egan and wife Jodi Albert there as well as MTV presenter Laura Whitmore and Galway milliner Philip Treacy.
