QI star Alan Davies is to host a brand new comedy chat show on satellite ‘lads’ channel Dave.
The currently untitled series will see the 47-year-old talking about a variety of subjects at a round table with four other comics.
The show will be unscripted and unplanned, with the aim being to recreate the relaxed atmosphere found backstage between comedians at stand-up gigs.
“I'm looking forward to sharing what makes comedians tick and bringing some of the banter from long car journeys, gigs or backstage in the dressing room to Dave's viewers,” says Davies.
The series is expected to air on Dave in the summer, and will be filmed in front an audience. The five-part first season will feature a mixture of 'A list' stars and up-and-coming personalities.
Alan Davies currently hosts Winter Olympics series Apres-Ski on BBC Two, and will return to the mystery series Jonathan Creek on BBC One on February 28.
