Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have teamed up with Breaking Bad writer Sam Catlin to develop a series based on the Preacher comics for AMC.
Rogen and Goldberg, who produced This is the End, have confirmed that they are beginning to work on a pilot for the small screen adaptation of the popular DC Comics work.
They said in a statement: "This is amazing! We've tried for seven years to work on Preacher and we're so psyched AMC is finally letting us.
"It is our favourite comic of all time, and we're going to do everything we can to do it right. Humperdoo!"
Breaking Bad's Catlin is involved with the project as a showrunner and executive producer for the Preacher television pilot.
Preacher follows Reverend Jesse Custer, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith. He discovers that God has left heaven and abandoned his responsibilities, so takes on the task of tracking God down and making Him answer for his dereliction of duty.
Rogen and Goldberg are consulting with Preacher creators Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon while developing the series for AMC.
