Sky has said Chris O'Dowd and Nick Vincent Murphy's Irish coming-of-age comedy Moone Boy will return for its second series on Sky 1 on February 17 at 9.00pm, with "more whimsical nostalgia and laugh-out-loud humour than you can shake a hurling stick at".

Sky says of series two: "It's 1990 and as Martin (David Rawle) starts secondary school, he and Sean (O'Dowd) carefully navigate life's big hurdles, from falling in love to the awkward school disco, as well as entering the world of work for the first time."

The broadcaster continues: "As football fever sweeps Ireland, the Moones get caught up in the euphoria of Italia 90, while chaos reigns when new neighbours move in and Martin's sister Fidelma prepares for motherhood."

Among the actors making guest appearances in series two are Amy Huberman and The Fast Show's Simon Day.
