Breaking Bad actor Jonathan Banks has joined the show's prequel series, Better Call Saul.
Banks played ruthless private investigator Mike Ehrmantraut in the original show. He now joins Bob Odenkirk, who plays the central role of criminal lawyer of Saul Goodman, as a regular cast member in the upcoming spinoff.
This means that unflappable lawyer Saul will have his trusted "fixer" by his side, according to Deadline.
Better Call Saul has been devised by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and writer-producer Peter Gould.
The spinoff, which is expected to premiere in November on AMC, will chronicle the evolution of Saul before he ever became Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) lawyer.
Both Cranston and Aaron Paul, who played Jessie Pinkman on the show, have expressed an interest in the spinoff show.
