RTÉ’s Operation Transformation is teaming up with Swim Ireland to bring ‘National Swim Day’ to the public on Saturday, 1 February.
Taking part is easy, with over 50 local swimming pools around Ireland opening their doors to offer free swimming sessions on the day.
Help will be on hand at each centre, in the form of swimming instructors, including Olympic swimmer Melanie Nocher, between 2pm and 6pm to ensure that everyone gets the most out of their session.
Speaking about Operation Transformation’s National Swim Day, Karl Henry, fitness expert for Operation Transformation said “Swimming is a universal sport. It’s suitable for everyone from toddlers to the elderly. It’s great for toning and cardiovascular activity and all you need to get started is a sense of fun and your swimsuit”.
