B O'C turns on the charm again

Trad supergroup The Gloaming, rugby stars the Wallace brothers, and fast-rising country crooner Derek Ryan are among the line-up on The Saturday Night Show this week.

Paul, David and Richard Wallace made the Guinness Book Of Records as the only three members of one family to play for the Lions. The lads will chat to host Brendan O'Connor about sibling rivalry, retirement and life after rugby.

Derek Ryan, the Carlow singer who swapped pop for country and who has had his songs covered by Daniel O'Donnell, will perform his new tune Better Times a Comin' from his top ten album Country Soul.

Also on Saturday night's show, trad supergroup The Gloaming, which features Martin Hayes, Iarla O’Lionaird, Caoimhin O’Raghallaigh, Dennis Cahill and Thomas Bartlett in its line-up, will perform an excerpt from Opening Set from their acclaimed new album.

The Saturday Night Show airs on RTÉ One on Saturday at 10.05pm.
