Two new radio shows have been announced on RTÉ's Digital station Pulse, namely ATT, a six-part series with RnaG's Cian Ó Cíobháin and a new dance show Back2Basics.

ATT is the new six-part series from Ó Cíobháin who has been presenting An Taobh Tuathail (The Other Side) on Raidió na Gaeltachta since May 1999. Between 2007 and 2013, Ó Cíobháin has released six compilations and this new show will feature music from those mixes. Tune in to the one-hour show and hear how Cian sounds as Béarla on Sundays from 3pm on Pulse, see below for details. ATT Vol 6 is currently available to download without charge from www.rte.ie/rnag

Plus dance lovers will be thrilled to hear about the new old school dance music show, Back2Basics which is launching tomorrow night, Wednesday January 22, at 11pm.

This is the first all vinyl radio show on RTÉ in a long time and will be presented by DJs Simon Palmer and Padraic Marren. The show has moved from community radio station 93.9 Dublin South FM to RTÉ Digital's Dance Music Station, Pulse.

Coming up on Back2Basics is everything from classic dance tunes, exclusive interviews with dance legends (including Mark Archer from Altern 8 and producer/DJ Andy Weatherall) and a look back at the notorious dance scene when it was in its prime.

Speaking about the show RTÉ Pulse Station Editor, Adam Fogarty, said: “We’ve been thinking about adding an old school show to our schedule for some time. With Back2Basics we have a ready-made show hosted to by two DJs who really know their dance classics and do some great interviews.

"Believe it or not we still have turntables in RTÉ that do get used regularly for some of our other shows, so a weekly vinyl show is a unique aspect that we can cater for. With record sales increasing again, due to the much improved quality of vinyl and a lasting appreciation of its sound quality, we feel this is the right time to welcome Back2Basics to RTE.”
