British comedian Michael McIntyre has landed his own chatshow on BBC One.

On each episode of The Michael McIntyre Chat Show, the popular comedian will interview three famous guests.

McIntyre joked: "From my very first conversation I remember thinking, 'This should be televised!'. Well, now the British Broadcasting Corporation has made my dream a reality.

"I am overwhelmingly excited about meeting and having fun with my favourite celebrated people on The Michael McIntyre Chat Show."

The series will consist of six episodes, with McIntyre expected to "bring his unique and hugely popular brand of comedy" to the star interviews.

BBC One controller Charollte Moore commented: "I'm thrilled he will be bringing his own unique flavour to a brand new chatshow for BBC One."
