The Irish web series Cuckoo has won an award for Best Writing at the International Academy of Web Television Awards in Las Vegas.

Nikki Racklin and Danann Breathnach wrote the series, which was originally broadcast online as part of RTE's StoryLand competition.

Cuckoo had been nominated for three awards, including Best Actress (Pagan McGrath) and Best Director (Danann Breathnach).

The synopsis for Cuckoo reads: "Disaffected teenager Niamh Keegan feels like a spare part in her boring, staid family unit. A photo in the newspaper makes her question her identity."
