Critically-acclaimed US cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine begins tonight on RTÉ Two with a double bill of episodes.

SNL alumnus Andy Samberg stars as a rather infantile New York detective who belies his childish behaviour with a surprisingly high arrest rate.

The show's opening season received a nomination for Best Comedy at the Golden Globes, and is a workplace mockumentary show similar to the likes of The Office or Parks & Recreation.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine also stars Andre Braugher, whose CV includes two highly-regarded shows, Homicide: Life on the Street and Men of a Certain Age. Braugher plays the precinct's new captain.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine starts at 9.00pm tonight (January 6th) on RTÉ Two.
